'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' Nintendo Switch 2 Remake Announced, Releasing 2026

The June 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct concluded with the announcement that "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" will get a remake on the Nintendo Switch 2 that releases in 2026.

The remake announcement trailer sets up the story from the original game, which was released on the Nintendo 64 in 1998. The remake itself is particularly notable as it was the first-ever game in "The Legend of Zelda" series to use full 3D graphics. The game will now be imagined, seemingly, in full 60 FPS and at least 1080p resolution, with the chance of 4K as well, given the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2's hardware.

At the time of writing, no other details regarding "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" Nintendo Switch 2 remake have been released, though it is widely expected more will be shared in the coming months.
