'Nintendo Switch Sports Resort' Announced, Releasing October 2026

As announced during the June 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct, "Nintendo Switch Sports Resort" will move its way exclusively onto the Nintendo Switch 2 system on Oct. 22, 2026. At the time of writing, pre-orders have not yet been launched, but they are expected to by the end of the day.

"Nintendo Switch Sports Resort" includes 12 different sports, including:

• Boxing

• Table Tennis

• Archery

• Tennis

• Volleyball

• Bowling

• Basketball

• Golf

• Thumb Wrestling

• Skateboarding

• Power Cruising

• Prop Plane

Several sports that made the "Wii Sports" and "Wii Sports Resort" games the classics fans around the world love, including baseball, 3 on 3 basketball, swordplay, and more are absent from "Nintendo Switch Sports Resort." However, the game brings the series to famed Wuhu Island, which has not been used since "Wii Sports Resort" in 2009.

There was also short gameplay released during the Nintendo Direct for Thumb Wrestling. However, at the time of writing, no other details have been released for "Nintendo Switch Sports Resort," though there is more to come as the game inches closer to its Oct. 22 release date.
