"Doomsday" is coming.

The anticipated Dec. 18 film from Marvel Studios, directed by the Russo Brothers, debuted its first full trailer exclusively at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, which promises an epic and haunting journey, as the Avengers, X-Men, Wakandans, and the Fantastic Four come together in an effort to stop Doctor Doom from causing chaos in the multiverse for a long time to come.

On the final day of CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, the Walt Disney Company held its panel, highlighting its 2026 and some of its 2027 film slate. The studio saved "Avengers Doomsday" for the very end of the panel, and according to media outlets who were present for the screening of the trailer, it was the hype train starter that fans across the world were hoping it would be. New Rockstars was quoted as saying:

Yes, the Avengers Doomsday trailer lives up to the hype. We saw a full two minute trailer. It holds nothing back.

Regarding the contents of the trailer itself, it centers around the X-Mansion, as it is seemingly under siege by Victor Von Doom himself. There are moments during the trailer were Channing Tatum's Gambit and Simu Liu's Shang-Chi, as well as Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova and Rebecca Romijn's Mystique going one-on-one with one another (in the case of the Yelena vs Mystique fight, Mystique shapeshifts into Yelena while she's fighting her).

There's a powerful moment where Thor is giving a speech to the Avengers, saying that they must settle their differences so that they can fight, what he describes, as "the scariest threat I have ever seen." He also at one point says that the Avengers will need a miracle to win the coming fight, as he is soon seen fighting one-on-one with Victor Von Doom. Chris Evans' Steve Rogers is included, who notably has longer hair, as he summons Mjolnir to his hand.

"Avengers Doomsday" is the second-to-last film of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film releases exclusively in theaters Dec. 18, 2026. It is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. It is written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely (who, notably, was one of the writers that worked with the Russo Brothers on "Infinity War" and Endgame"). It stars Robert Downey Jr. (Victor Von Doom), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Captain America), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Letitia Wright (Shuri), and many others.
