Star Wars Starfighter Officially Announced

For the first time since 2018-2019, Star Wars will have back-to-back years with film releases, as earlier today at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, a brand new Star Wars film was announced.

Star Wars Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling, debuts in theaters May 28th, 2027! Not much is known about the film, other than the fact that it will be taking place "approximately five years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," and that Ryan Gosling will be playing "a brand new character," which should be a lot of fun.

Other than that, details were largely kept under wraps, even after Levy and Gosling went on the Star Wars Celebration LIVE! Stage, so we're just going to have to wait and see in the near future what Star Wars Starfighter has in store for fans all over the world.
