"K-Pop Demon Hunters" has become a cultural phenomenon. At the time of writing, it is the only original film in the history of Netflix to have surpassed 500 million views. In addition, the hit song from the film "Golden" has been racking up awards wins and nominations at every major awards show that is coming across its path. Now, another chapter is added to the pages of history that the film has been writing for itself.

With the big win for "Golden" at the 68th Grammy Awards, beating out "Sinners," "Never Too Late," and others, the K-Pop genre as a whole has earned their first-ever Grammy Awards win. This is a historic win for a genre that has tried several times in the past to secure a win on the biggest night in music, including with the likes of popular K-Pop groups BTS and KATSEYE, along with several solo K-Pop artists. None of them were able to secure a victory, until "Golden."
As the BBC noted regarding the historic win for "Golden" and the K-Pop genre as a whole; “The Grammy win suggests that recognition of K-Pop’s cultural and commercial influence is gradually increasing.” With "K-Pop Demon Hunters" becoming the massive hit that it has for Netflix, it isn't entirely surprising to see the K-Pop genre as a whole have a major popularity boost, as many kids and other people around the world are introduced to the genre for the very first time through the film.
Overall, it was a truly historic night for a genre that is showcased in the most popular original film of all-time that has ever been made and added to the catalog of the biggest streaming service in the business by subscriber count, Netflix.
