From beginning her passion at just two years old, to singing the Star Spangled Banner prior to the 2018 Freedom 100 at Indianapolis 500 Carb Day, to starring on-screen in three of the most popular Disney franchises of all-time, Liamani Segura has done a lot in her career thus far, and she has not even graduated high school yet.

Liamani Segura has taken the steps to create a very special career before becoming 18 years of age. The girl is painting the towns she touches with her special smile and incredible angelic-like voice. Her story is a unique one, but is one worth telling so that other young girls like Liamani can see that they too can see that this is a real journey that they can also have, if they're willing to put in the work at the end of the day.

Singing From A Young Age

The girl who sung a powerful rendition of "This Is Me" at 14 years of age began teaching herself how to sing at just two years of age, from self-taught lessons that continue to this very day.

From there, Liamani Segura first sang publicly at six years of age at her elementary school's talent show. In an interview with Marquette Wire, she revealed that she had "butterflies in her stomach" prior to perfoming that day, but she went on and sang beauitfully anyway. When it became clear to Liamani's parents that Liamani had a passion and love for singing and perfoming from that young age, they did everything they could to ensure she had the chances to learn and thrive in that environment.

In 2015, she sung the Star Spangled Banner, the national anthem of the United States of America, at a high school basketball and Major League Baseball game with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers invited Segura back in 2016, 2017, and 2018 for one game a piece to sing the Star Spangled Banner once again, with the 2018 appearance being at Game One of the National League Division Series between the Brewers and the Colorado Rockies.

A little-known fact about Segura is that, also in 2018, she successfully auditioned for "America's Got Talented." Even though she was eliminated before the televised portion began, she made it to one of the final non-televised rounds with the judges, who were all extremely impressed with Segura's range and overall talent.

As mentioned, the girl from Racine, Wisconsin has been teaching herself to sing her entire life. Others at her age, such as Dove Cameron, Zendaya, among countless others, have received some form of professional training to hone in their vocal crafts. At the time of writing, Segura has not had any professional training of any kind, making her impressive singing ventures all the more extraordinary.

From the very beginning of her journey in the world of singing, Segura has made it clear that her ultimate goal is to "become a professional singer and doctor, so she can sing to them in the hospital and make them feel better," which is truly an admirable life goal that she is well on her way in accomplishing, given the current trajectory of her career as a whole.

While in the early stages of her life and career she did a ton of self-taught lessons to help perfect and hone in her craft, it's the steps she took once she began the on-screen portion of her career in 2022 that really helped to propel into the young superstar that she's quickly becoming.

From Disney to Superstardom

When the East High drama kids of "High School Musical The Musical The Series" took a road trip to Camp Shallow Lake for a fun new adventure, Liamani Segura's Emmy was right there alongside them.

Though her character in the show was seeking guidance from those around her, such as Sofia Wylie's Gina Porter (who, according to Segura via Young Entertainment, became like "a big sister" to her on-set), Segura herself did not necessarily need the guidance. By this point in her life, it became clear to everyone who knew her that she was going to be a perfoming superstar. However, when she came on-board for the third season of "High School Musical The Musical The Series," she had not done any form of acting since starring as Dorothy in "The Wiz" at nine years of age.

That said, Segura's commitment to excellence in talent overcame her lack of acting experience, contributing to a scene-stealing and special performance throughout the third season, which culminated in a emotionally-powerful and shows-stopping performance of a cover version of "This Is Me" from "Camp Rock" in the final episode of the season, a performance that, in the eyes of many fans around the world, put Segura on their maps of the next generation of superstars.

From there, Segura did anything and everything she wanted to do to help propel herself towards young superstar status. She reprised her role as Emmy in the fourth season of "High School Musical The Musical The Series" that released in 2023, which led to a powerful performance of an original song in the season's sixth episode titled "Dreams Don't Die," created just for the fourth season.

Though Segura was not on-screen in 2024, she did release her debut music single "Sunkissed" on Oct. 24 of that year, her 16th birthday. At the time of writing, the English version of the vibrant up-beat nature song has 169,116 plays on Spotify, with the Spanish version (ultizing Segura's Puerto Rican roots to full effect) having an additional 18,909 plays. Then, in 2025, she released singles "Hanging by a Thread" and "True Love," which were then revealed to be a part of her six-song debut EP "Dear Little Me," which at the time of writing has a combined total of 620,561 plays across the six songs on Spotify approximately 10 months after release. Also in 2025, she released "Christmas I Won't Forget," a special and emotionally-driven holiday-themed single.

Also in 2025, Disney announced that Segura would be joining two of their biggest franchises in "Descendants" and "Camp Rock." Segura will play Red (Kylie Cantrall)'s sister in "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" (set for release July 16, 2026) and Sage in "Camp Rock 3" (set for release August 2026). Regarding filming for her role as Pink, Segura described the experience as being "so nostalgic, and I think the fans are really going to love it.” Regarding filming for her as Sage, she described the character as a "bold and determined camper," which will for sure make things very interesting.

Her roles as Pink and Sage have earned her a headlining spot on the "Descendants/Z-O-M-B-I-E-S/Camp Rock Worlds Collide Tour," which will begin Sept. 25, 2026 in Palm Desert, California, and conclude Dec. 13, 2026 in Mexico City, Mexico. Segura will join the tour alongside Hudson Stone, Swayam Bhatia, Mekonnen Knife, Malachi Barton, Dara Reneé, Alexandro Byrd, and Kiara Romero. The tour itself will feature songs from all three franchises, though the specific songs that will be used for the tour have not been revealed at the time of writing.

Also at the time of writing, these are all of the roles and music ventures for Liamani Segura that are known, though she has teased on social media in recent days that more music, at the very least, is on the way in the near future.

Despite having, by the end of 2026, just three on-screen acting credits and seven original songs to her name, she has done so much with so little publicly to wow fans all over the world. Her angelic voice that she has been perfecting through self-taught lessons of all kinds is something of true legendary beauty. In the little time she's been out in the public spotlight, she's been making the case for why everyone should be paying attention to her career for the foreseable future. No matter what comes next for her, her talent and passion for learning all there is to know is undeniable, which means the sky is truly the limit for her and she'll her pick of where she takes her career from this moment forward.

What's Next For Liamani

As mentioned, the roads Liamani Segura could take her career down at this point are endless.

For example, if she is well-received enough and there is a story worth telling following the release of "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland," Segura could easily reprise her role as Pink in the sixth "Descendants" film, which would likely release in 2028 if one were to be made. In addition, if Disney were to make a fourth "Camp Rock" film, she could easily return for that as well. If she is received well in both "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" and "Camp Rock 3," Disney could very easily look at offering her roles in their other roles within the company, including the "Z-O-M-B-I-E-S" series, or perhaps even getting her a chance to be the newest original Disney Princess somewhere down the road.

In the meantime, it appears that Segura will be creating more and more original music. In theory, all roads could in fact lead to her eventually releasing her debut original album, though whether or not that happens for sure remains to be seen. It would also be fun to see her collabrate with other artists. Her fellow "High School Musical The Musical The Series" co-stars Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo both are releasing music that she could easily slide in on, or perhaps someone like Chappell Roan or Sofia Carson would be more her speed.

In short, Liamani Segura has a long, special, and legendary career ahead of her. She truly has her pick of where her road will ultimately led. It could lead in one focused direction or several creative ways at once. Regardless, she truly has a superstar career out in front of her no matter what choices she ultimately makes. She has proven that she has the talent to excel and go as far in the singing and overall entertainment industry as she wants to.

With that, make sure to stay tuned to Beyond The Screen over the coming months and years, as we will be following Liamani Segura's career with great interest. She has the talent to be a superstar, and it will be amazing to see where she ultimately takes that superstardom, to where she's earning even more music plays and fans around the world than she already has at this very moment.
