Hailee Steinfeld Is In A Disney Animated Film With 'Hexed'

Following the massive success of her performance in "Sinners," there are those who believed that Hailee Steinfeld would not make an acting appearance again until she provides her voice for Gwen Stacy in "Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse" in 2027. However, in a surprise reveal during The Walt Disney Company's CinemaCon 2026 panel, Steinfeld was revealed as the voice of the main character for their upcoming animated film "Hexed," due in theaters in late 2026.

Steinfeld plays Billie (seen on the left), who is seen in the CinemaCon footage, according to Deadline, "getting a personality test / interrogation by a book and quill, speaking in British accents, who invite her into a a world of magic and wonder." Also revealed as part of the cast of Hexed is Rashida Jones, who will voice Billie's mother (seen on the right).

Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand will direct "Hexed," with Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones producing. Jared Bush, the current Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, is an executive producer on the film.

At the time of writing, no other casting details or plot information has been released by The Walt Disney Company.
